Installed sitemap and now I can't get into any of my forums :(

So I installed sitemap 2.0 on vBulletin 3.6.x -- I think I followed the instructions properly, but now when I go into the main forum and try to go into any sub-forums, they all come up as "webpage cannot be found."

If i turn off vbseo and the links go back to forum/forumdisplay.php?f=12 it works fine, but if it tries to use the permalink (forumdisplay?f=moderators_corner) or something like that, it doesn't work...

    help :(

    Hi Michael,

Sitemap doesn't change any of the links... what is the URL to a page that has the problem?

vBSEO Sitemap does not change your forum URLs.

If you're talking about vBSEO, please PM me your forum URL as you are not currently showing as a vBSEO Owner.

    Thanks

could it have been something with the .htaccess? i uploaded it by accident, even though it said that vbseo users shouldn't.. that part apparently was not 'bold' enough for me to take enough notice :(

by the way, thanks for the fast responses.. that's some A+ service!

Ok, I think I have it figured out now. That license is owned by another member, and vBSEO was already installed an working on that site. According to your PM you were trying to help him out by installing vBSEO Sitemap.

Most likely, you uploaded the vBSEO Sitemap .htaccess over the vBSEO .htaccess file, which caused the site to break. The vBSEO Sitemap rules are included in the vBSEO .htaccess file, so leave it in place, and you should be fine.

where can I get another copy of the vBSEO .htaccess file to put on the server?

should I delete the sitemap .htaccess and replace it with the vBSEO .htaccess?

The owner of the vBSEO license should have the ZIP file, or he can come and download it again if he needs to.

Yes, the vBSEO .htaccess file needs to be put back into place.

Well I installed .htaccess and it works!

    Thanks, guys!

So now that I have sitemap installed, does it automatically send information to google/yahoo or do I have to manually submit it?

The sitemap URL (shown on the vBSEO Sitemap interface menu) should be submitted to your Google Webmaster account under the Sitemaps section.
