High Load

Okay, I put this live on the main forum last night and server load has shot up.

At the moment it's looking like I may have to turn this off again, the load has gone from an average of under 1 to over 4, and is often jumping to 9 and over - and Sunday is a light traffic day, at this rate it's going to kill the server tomorrow. :(

Hi Paul,

Can you please open a Support Ticket with FTP details so one of the Total Support Team can look into it?

JFYI, I had to disable it for 3 days as our traffic levels were so high it drove the load through the roof, killing the server (and yes, I even bit the bullet and loaded 3.0.0 - no difference).

The site has calmed down a bit now so I've re-enabled it, as soon as I did that the load jumped over 100%.

We'll see how it goes (we also have a bigger dual core box on order, which may help when we move to it).

did you find a fix for the problem? I just installed today and now my forum crashes many times and hardly anything loads. If it loads, it is usually after 20 seconds after a click. Im on a dedicated server. Need to know how to fix this, thanks

We moved to a larger server in the end, which mostly cured it. I also added xcache which further reduced loads.
