Google verify

My front page used to be Wordpress now it's vBadvanced. My forums page is and has always been vBulletin. The forums page is verified by Google (has been for quite awhile).

The front page which is now vBadvanced, for about a month now, is asking to be verified. I have this question submitted to the vBavanced forum and now I'm submitting it here in hopes of a quick answer.

I submitted a HTML verification file and put it in the root but Google isn't accepting it for whatever reason.

Is it in the proper location? Generally, if you submmited /directory to the webmaster area, you need to put the verification file in /directory as well.

you may need to make a seperate webmaster area with a new key.
