Ive inserted the rewrite code into the .htaccess located in the /forums/ directory with no results i am still receiving the same error.

im certain its one of those im doing something simple yet stupidly wrong but i cant put my finger on it

if it has something to do with post #8 in the thread you linked to.. then i cant see that either..

You should find this line:
Code:
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !(admincp/|modcp/|cron)
and replace it with:
Code:
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !(admincp/|modcp/|cron|vbseo_sitemap)

Thanks for the help Oleg, that seems to have done the trick..

Site map accepted successfully without any errors.

one last thing the url stats show as follows

Total urls = 0
Indexed Urls = 0

Im assuming this will change as the site gets indexed.

I was using 2.2 (evrything running OK) and just upgraded to 3.2.5 and after that I've got exactly the same error.
Search here I've found this thread and already tried the suggestions here but still getting the same.

Every each I tried I run the sitemap generator again.

I'm on vB 3.7.4 PL1 and 3.2.5 with basically default configurations.

Any tips ?

OK, got working, my bad.

Buy the way, I couldn't use the maximum limit of 50,000 URL's per file, I have to reduce it to 40 K or Google gives me maximum size reached.

Working fine now.
