Big Problem with Member Profiles

Hello!

We have issues with the user profiles for two users with almost
identical names. The one is named skikebär, the other is named
Skike-Bär. The problem is not the ä, this get's converted to ae as
intended. The issue is that the Dash becomes an underscore:
skikebär

This however is the profile for skikebär:
skikebär

Skike-Bär's profile works if you replace the underscore with a dash manually:
Skike-Bär

We can't figure out how to solve these...

Please check users with . in their names

Doesn't help. Setting VBSEO_REWRITE_MEMBER_MORECHARS to 1 creates
working but ugly URLs:
Skike-Bär
skikebär

You should add user_id to your member rewrite urls

can you help me with where I can find these settings where I have to add this ?

go here: /vbseocp.php#url_member

click on the advanced tab

And you will see all the member urls. You will need to change these to include the [user_id] variable, and maybe make a custom rule as well.
