    big problem

I've been in previous contact with vbseo, I took over control of my site. I had a partner who was a nut. It appears to me, that he installed a bootleg copy of vbseo on the site.

I've been working on re-doing the entire site, and I un-installed vbseo. I want to purchase a legit copy this week from you.

I've been working on my sitemap and google, and it seems messed up now. Here is a shot of google's control panel, I am looking for advice on how to eliminate any errors and get back to where I was in the google ratings please. It seems I've dropped from #2 to 1million and two!

I am not above hiring someone, if that's what it takes.
    Thanks!

Your best choice is to purchase and install vBSEO asap. This way bots will not face 404 errors.

Thanks for the reply, I am wondering, I was told there are several different options for having vbseo re-write the URL's.

Is there any way you (or me) can tell which option my old partner choose, so I can choos the same option, and avoid the 404 errors?

PS, I just purchased vbseo today too.

Well, to be honest, the software seems quite involved.
I have a question, or two, after reading about your installation service.

1-Would you choose the appropiate re-write method in my case?
2-There seems to be some errors in my robots.txt file. do you review and fix that too?
3-Do you make all appropiate answers to maximize your software with google?

Our default settings are quite often all that you may require. But we do recommend you explore features such as our Relevant Replacements.

We also will provide critique when requested, which usually includes other helpful tips for your site.

The rewrite setting is your personal preference. Most importantly, ALL of our rewrite settings allow you to achieve link consensus. See:
Pin the Tail on the SEO Donkey (with Link Consensus)!

We do not provide an official robots.txt file since our software can function without it. However, in some cases it can be useful for such actions as blocking a particular forum that you (a) want open to guests, but (b) don't want search engines to include it.

We don't officially support non-vBSEO related features. From time to time, we do our best to give feedback outside of the realm of vBSEO. However, there are many robots.txt validators available on the Web. You can also find several threads regarding robots.txt usage and issues here at our forum.

We'll do our best to work with you to ensure you are maximizing your potential. The support team will help with any troubleshooting issues. Everyone in our community helps contribute to the discussion of other factors including how to continually improve your forum.
