404 Error - Please help
vbSEO Sitemap Reports show:

Your Google Sitemap Index URL: http://www.clubpenguincheat.com/forum/sitemap_index.xml.gz

For some reason when I follow this link I get a 404 error.., but the task manager shows that the google sitemap was created.

Any help would be appreciated

I see a "Sitemap file not found" error, which is not a standard 404 message.

If you look in your vbseo_sitemap/data directory do you see the sitemap files?

none, just the index.php and .htaccess

For some reason it's not creating the files. Confirm the permissions on the data directory are 777, then run the sitemap generator from your vBSEO Sitemap menu and see if you get any errors.

Not sure I understand what you mean? It appears correct now. Just submit that URL to your Google Webmaster account. The index XML file will always contain any/all of your sitemaps, and Google will find them.

The URL shown on your vBSEO Sitemap menu. The same one in your first post.

Sitemaps are limited to 50,000 URLs by Google, so when you get higher than that you will have multiple sitemap files. You only submit the index to Google, since that will link to any / all sitemaps you may have.
