    zend optimiser

    Hi All,
    I'm thinking of buying the vbseo mod. I think there are many benefits to it

    But a few quick questions:

    My site gets quite a few hacking attempts (usually 2 serious attempts per week) , so I'm running PHP safe_mode as well as I've disabled a few PHP functions.

    From this I can see I can't use ioncube so I'll have to use the zend optimizer.

    What settings do I need to enable in my php.ini?
    As i note that Zend Optimizer will *not* run if the following PHP settings are enabled:

    • Thread Safety
    • Enable Versioning
    I don't suppose zend optimiser can be installed via apt-get either?

    Cheers
    -E

    Hello,
    What settings do I need to enable in my php.ini?
    As i note that Zend Optimizer will *not* run if the following PHP settings are enabled:

    * Thread Safety
    * Enable Versioning
    Also, php should be compiled as non-debug version (which is default).

    apt-get won't work as far as I know, you should download Zend Optimizer package from zend.com to install it.

    I guess it's going to be a case of installing it on a test server then locking it down as well as reading the safe_mode documentation and seeing what I have to enable / disable in php.ini.
