    Will it work for me?

    I have vBulletin 3.6.2 and I also have vBadvanced Link Directory, PhotoPost Classifieds and PhotoPost Gallery. They are all working together rather well.

    However, when I had only vBulletin running, the second thing I installed was Zoints SEO, which is a cool script -- but when I started installing the other plugins it all fell apart and displayed errors. Zoints SEO is incompatible. So after database errors and much frustration, I managed to get it all working again and uninstall Zoints SEO.

    I am happy to purchase this software, but before I do I just want to know that it will work with vB 3.6.2 and it wont clash with other plugins like vBadvanced Link Directory or the PhotoPost scripts.

    Hi,

    1. Yes, vBSEO will certainly work for you. You have the option of excluding scripts or entire directories from being vBSEOed. I have all of the programs you mention running on one of my vBSEOed forums, and they work fine.

    2. Downloads comes after Purchase.

    Footer Code

    If I purchase the software, do I have to display vBSEO in the foot, or do I have to pay more money again for the right to remove it?

    What is the total cost of the software?

    For life time license you'll pay 149$ and in order to download upgrades after first year you need to pay 35$.

    There is currently no copyright free option for vBSEO however you can choose from 9 different linked and not linked copyright info.

    You shall download the latest version which is vBSEO 3.0 Rc6 but in order to download your account needs to be activated. As activation process is manuel it may took up to 12 hours but in order to speed up the process you can Pm Joe Ward with your Paypal or 2checkout.com transaction id.

    Ok -- problem

    I have downloaded vBSEO.

    I followed these instructions:

    A. Upload ALL the files in the 'upload' folder to your forum root folder in BINARY mode.
    Check.

    B. Go to your ADMIN CP > 'Plugin System' > 'Manage Products' > Click on [Add/Import Product]
    I can't. The forum no longer works and I can't get into the admin. I get this error in my browser when I try to do either:

    Fatal error: Unable to read 25205 bytes in /home/wgreen/public_html/community/vbseo.php on line 0
    Edit I just checked vbseo.php -- it's looking for Zend. Maybe I don't have it installed.. I'll check.

    That error is caused by not doing part A. You may have to force your FTP client to use BINARY. That error is caused from uploading the files in ASCII mode.

    I just called the provider and Zend is installed. Ok, Usually WinSCP uploads files correctly by itself. Ok, I will force binary and see how I go. Thanks.

    Edit Ok, it's cool. Thanks.

    Hey it all seems to be working ok -- The forum has static URL's and I noticed that CMPS has static url's too and so does the gallery. Above, you said you have all the same scripts as me -- is there a way to make sure that the directory and the classifieds have static URL's too?

    Edit Also, how can I remove the footer URL? We have a policy of not displaying any 3rd party URL's on our website(s) -- not even our own websites, and we've paid to remove all footer links from all other software(s). It's costing a fortune, but I need to take it off, as mentioned/asked about - above.

    Edit (again) Houston - we have a problem: "There is currently no copyright free option for vBSEO however you can choose from 9 different linked and not linked copyright info." I miss-read this. When I first read this, I thought it said there is no copyright "fee".. so I thought, ok -- good I buy. If I had've realized what you meant was that the copyright could not be removed, I would not have purchased and would have either found another solution, or paid for some custom coding. If the copyright cannot be removed, I cannot use vBSEO. Reason: 1). So far it has cost thousands of dollars do develop this website. Reason 2). We'll be promoting it from a website that cost 5 figures to build. 3). The script is expensive enough as it is, and we're not into sending our PR/customers/advertising dollars along to another company (of any sort) for any reason.

    We're going to have to work something out.

    Manually edit your vbseo_config.php file. There are 10 choices for the copyright display, and 5 of them do not contain links.

    Imagine if every single one of the scripts I had purchased used the same policy. What I'd have is a forum with more footers than forum categories. I am looking at all the options. I don't like any of them. Linked or not linked.

    // Linked
    // 1. Search Engine Friendly URLs by vBSEO 3.0.0 RC6
    // 2. Content Relevant URLs by vBSEO 3.0.0 RC6
    // 3. Search Engine Optimization by vBSEO 3.0.0 RC6
    // 4. SEO by vBSEO 3.0.0 RC6
    // 9. Ping/Trackback Enabled by vBSEO 3.0.0 RC6
    //
    // Not Linked
    // 5. Search Engine Friendly URLs by vBSEO 3.0.0 RC6 © 2006, Crawlability, Inc.
    // 6. Content Relevant URLs by vBSEO 3.0.0 RC6 © 2006, Crawlability, Inc.
    // 7. Search Engine Optimization by vBSEO 3.0.0 RC6 © 2006, Crawlability, Inc.
    // 8. SEO by vBSEO 3.0.0 RC6 © 2006, Crawlability, Inc.

    I can understand if it's a free script, or even selling the script for $29.95 with a link and $149 without. But to sell software for US $149.00 and "force" a link back, or a copyright is really pushing it.

    My guess is that there are hundreds of potential customers turning away because of this strategy. No -- thousands. It's partially my fault for not reading correctly, but I read it the way I did because I subconsciously thought there's no way a company would charge such a price and force a copyright.

    You're not selling cars or gaming consoles -- which is normal to have branding, but you're selling SEO software to people who by nature absolutely do not want anything on their site other than what they've paid for/promoted.

    Do you think you're going to sell this software and it will become popular with this strategy? I recommend that you change your path, because if I cannot remove the copyright:

    1). I will not use the software:

    2). I will not purchase a license for many other websites that I'd like to/may use it on.

    3). I will not recommend it.
