Question Why Vbseo is lagging my forum

Hey,

Recently we had server issue etc.. so we deleted all the vBulletin files including vbseo's files and folders and started with fresh files but when i went and uploaded the xml of vbseo after uploading all the files needed, the forum just went really slow. It takes a minutes to load.

Why is that ? When i turn off vbseo the forum goes fast again.

Are you on a shared hosting account? What is your forum performance with and without vBSEO installed?

By the way, this only started occurring after you had the "server issue" that you mentioned?

I am currently on a vps machine" virtual private server"

My forum is fast without vbseo and when i enable it, the server admin told me it causes load spike.

And this vbseo issue occured when my forum had vb files that causes infinite flood , so we end up by deleting all the folders , everything including vbseo

then we start clean again by uploading first the vb files and the skins.
Everything is working good, and then right now , few hour ago, i uploaded vbseo files and chmod the necessary files and once i uploaded the xml, the forum lagged so much that it barely load. We had to disable vbseo

Note: when i was uploading the vbseo xml, i first didn't rewrite vbseo xml, i had to unistall the old vbseo xml, it took a while till it was unistalled then i uploaded the new vbseo xml, just to make sure everything is uploaded new.

From your description, it sounds like the performance (with vBSEO installed) was acceptable prior to the "infinite flood" incident. Is that true?

This is important for us to establish. If this is the case, then it sounds like a simple configuration issue that must be corrected (as opposed to the possibility that your server is over utilizing its resources via excessive sharing, etc)

*Before* you had the flooding problem, was vBSEO running ok?

*After* you deleted and re-installed everything, is that when vBSEO *first* started to slow the performance of your site? Or was it always like this?

Ya I think so, vbseo was running ok, well i always had server issues anyways but during the last week , things went just crazy

100% swap
100& memory usage
45.5 cpus 4

and all that was on a vps machine.

So we deleted all folders and files and uploaded fresh vb files, and later fresh vbseo files and when i just uploaded vbseo xml right now, it caused a load spike.

Why is that =/ i like vbseo and want to use it.

I am on a vps , i was even two days ago on a dedicate server and it caused the server to lock up. I've made a ticket and Oleg been helping me but so far still the issue isn't solved.

I am going to re-upload vbseo again and reduce the .htaccess like oleg suggested and see what happen next.

Posts per day around 1-2k
average user daily online, like everything min or so, around 300-400 online users daily
