Where's the server Test script download?

    Hi -

I'm interested in seeing if VBSeo will work on my unix server at cihost, where is the download link to the test script?

    it's not at:
    https://www.vbseo.com/downloads/

    Where can I locate it?

Also, I just wanted to confirm, does VBSeo work with the latest version of vbulletin, which is release: vbulletin_3-6-8_Patch_Level_2?

    thanks,

    ken

The requirement is to have mod_rewrite supported on your server. Older versions of vBSEO required Zend Optimizer or Ioncube, but the latest version (3.1.0) is unencrypted and that is no longer required.

Also, I just wanted to confirm, does VBSeo work with the latest version of vbulletin, which is release: vbulletin_3-6-8_Patch_Level_2?
    Yes, it is fully compatible.

Hi Oleg, thanks - how can I find out if my server supports mod_rewrite ?
I have phpinfo.php installed, if that would say something? Or, how else can I tell? Looks like a great product, I just want to make sure my server is compatible before buying.

If phpinfo won't tell, what do I need to type in at root on my unix server to see whether or not mod_rewrite is enabled?

    thanks,

    ken

    Hi Ken,

Phpinfo should show the mod_rewrite variable.. pull the page up and search for that.

Please try to create this ".htaccess" file (with leading dot in the filename) in forums folder:
    Code:
    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteRule ^testpage\.html$ faq.php [L]
Then open yourdomain.com/forum/testpage.html - it should open vB FAQ page in case if mod_rewrite is supported.

having vbulletin installed at root vs /forums/

Hi Oleg, thanks - will do. Also, I'm having vbulletin installed, as we speak, in root for my site, so it's not going to be in a /forums subdirectory, since I want the front page of the forum to be the site's homepage.. is that a problem for vbseo installation, or is that ok?

    thx!

    Thanks!

Thanks - that worked re the .htaccess test .. smart idea. And it shows mod_rewrite module loaded in phpinfo as well, so we're good to go - I'm buying vbseo right now.

I've heard terrific things about vbseo from very successful people, so I'm looking forward to working with you to get this installed and up and running.

    Have a great week!

Thanks for the useful hint. It worked for me.

You really should have all the this stuff displayed up front for those considering purchasing vBSEO. I shouldn't have to use Google to extricate this information.
