What Happens If VBSEO Goes Down?

I'm sorry if this has been asked 100 times, I looked everywhere and couldn't find anything.

Will my forum be dependent on VBseo staying up 100% of the time or VBseo staying in business?

In other words, is vbseo constantly checking to verfiy license and if for some reason vbseo.com vanishes it suddenly stops working?

    Thanks..

    Hello,

as long as you have correct license key entered in vBSEO Control Panel, vbseo will never contact our server and should work fine for the lifetime.

I cannot believe vBSEO business going down. Just look at the new members rate they get every day and a high percentage of them convert to a licensed member! Just like I did!

Well, really that has nothing to do with it. 'Everyone' goes down. And I don't like the idea of my forum being dependent on some other server staying up.

Indeed, and a fair concern to have.

However, unlike version.vbulletin.com, which is called every time you visit your admincp (and has, to my memory, caused crazy load times for admincp on a couple of occasions when that server was down), vBSEO only contacts the licensing server when you upgrade or install.

September is the 3rd anniversary of our launch. We were in development stage prior to that. As a company we continue to grow every month, with record numbers of vBSEO users. July 2008 was a new record month for us. So, the company is strong, and plans to be available to all our customers long into the future!

If for some unlikely, low probability event such as Puerto Rico sinking into the ocean, we would ensure that all of our customers still have unrestricted use of their vBSEO software.

As Ace indicated, we only verify the key and then do not send any requests to the server again.
