    Want to buy if......

    Hello

    I would like to buy at least one license from you (one and then more if it works well) if you (we) can do certain things.

    Is it possible to completely lose;
    a) The meta generator element?
    b) The meta keywords element? Yes, I am 100% sure I want to do this.
    c) The relevant_replacement automated insert text element?
    d) The automatically inserted title element - "(General Directory Name) at vBSEO.com" in directory pages and "vBulletin SEO Forums" in message pages?
    e) The end of page credits / links (Powered by vBulletin Version x.x.x Copyright ©2000 - 2006, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. Search Engine Friendly URLs by vBSEO 3.0.0 RC2) or have them rewritten as JavaScript so search engines can not see them?

    Would appreciate a simple "yes" or "no" to each.
    Also, if you answer any "no", do you have any objection to our own developer modifying the scripts to achieve this and is it possible (not encoded to prevent this)?

    Also is it possible to put any and all required JavaScript into separate files?

    Hi Andrew,

    a - This can be achieved by editing your headinclude template.
    b - as per a
    c - You can choose not to have any RRs
    d - as per A, but is done by editing phrases
    e - There are currently 10 options as to what your vBSEO footer copyright can be:
    // ****** COPYRIGHT NOTICE ******
    // As per the License Agreement (www.crawlability.com/vbseo/license/), you may NOT remove (or modify) the
    // copyright notice. Select one of the copyright notices to be displayed in ALL pages enhanced by vBSEO:

    // 8. SEO by vBSEO 3.0.0 RC5 © 2006, Crawlability, Inc.
    // 10. Ping/Trackback Enabled by vBSEO 3.0.0 RC5 © 2006, Crawlability, Inc.
    Regarding your second question.. some js can be, members here have tried it. I decided to remove it and return it to the navbar template.

    (Most of the things you have asked for are not vBSEO-specific, but are vBulletin default options.)

    Thanks Ace

    Sounds good / what I need.

    I am actually after something to replace an Invision Power Board to start off with. I bought Invision as it offered me forums, blogs and picture galleries, but their returned pages are so SE unfriendly. I had a developer write hacks for them (including a mapping function that changed message numbers into Search_Engine_Friendly type URL's). The problems were though;
    a) It is still possible to get, in certain circumstances, the raw Invision URL (plus variations such as print page URL) which gave me duplicate content problems on Google.
    b) Any Invision board updates mean I have to pay the developer to redo the scripts each time if I want to update.
    If you visit my site (this particular site of mine) you will see I have had it up for a year but have done nothing major with it; it is a kind of ongoing project site. I also have other forum types and think I will need to replace them as Google "evolves" if not sooner. VBSEO currently seems the only complete 3rd party scripts to do it.

    I will be buying VBSEO for sure shortly, but the domain my Invision Board / development site is on I am going to drop in favor of a different (unused) one I own. Unlike others I am not after a quick #1 for competitive single word search terms; I have commercial sites for that and I specialize in black hat SEO. This forum thing is much more a content based long term project I am after, plus to replace other active boards if my SEO mods do not work well.

    Questions

    1) I am going to put VBSEO on newdomain.tld/forums/, Wordpress blog software on newdomain.tld/blogs/ and Invision Gallery on newdomain.tld/photos/, plus another application I can not specify on newdomain.tld/(other)/. My question is, does vbulletin / vbseo have any latest posts snippet provision I can put on the home page (my idea is to have the last 6 forum posts, the last 4 blogs, the last 2 photo albums and the last 2 entries from the other application into boxes on the main site index / home page? Or, if it does not have such a function, are you aware of whether it can be done (have others done it)?

    2) Phobia: Do you have the mapping element of converting message number / session cookie URL's on vBulletin covered? That is, can you confirm the standard vBulletin URL's can not be accessed / used? The reason I ask is that black hatters can tool someone else's forum with Google by submitting these if they are possible / exist. You probably know that having several different URL's all pointing to the same content can very quickly kill a site.

    Sorry, one more question. Do you have rel="nofollow" ability for URL's posted by users / or a redirect script that is bot denied, so that link pop spammers get nothing?

    Hi again Andrew,

    With regards to the multiple link issue, one of the main functions of vBSEO is to give you Link Consensus. All vBulletin 'Multiple URLs' are reduced to ONE link to the page/item/post/thread/whatever in question.

    With regards to being able to put snippets from each section on your homepage... vBadvanced is a widely-used portal for vB. It *could* pull the 'additional' (IBPGallery/Blogs etc) with a bit of programming know-how. You could also use Drupal or one of the other vB-integrated CMSes, but again, it would require Modification.

    I am also unsure of whether IBPGallery integrates happily with vB, as I haven't ever used it.

    We do indeed have rel="nofollow" options, which can be applied to ALL links, or a selection. There is also the 'vBSEO Conditional Signatures' Modification, available free on vBulletin.org, which allows you to control when a signature will be shown, and for who, and with or without nofollow.

    Thanks Ace

    Perfect, thank you very much; this will save my developer a lot of time and me a lot of money. Their picture gallery may also make sense, although they do not use SE friendly URL's / paths. Thank you for your help, I will be back and a customer shortly.

    There are a few options available for vB Photo Galleries, PhotoPost PHP Photo Gallery With vBulletin and Other Forum Integration is the 'Industry Leader' so to speak, but there are others...some free scripts, some integration with vB.
