Hello should I wait for the GOLD version to come out or should I just purchase this RC8 now and install, then upgrade? will it make a difference and will upgrading screw things up?

It's really up to you. However, the upgrade process is so simple, there is no risk or time waste to be expected.

Pre-release team currently has 3.0 GOLD and is testing to see if it is ready for release. If we get thumbs up from them, it shouldn't be more than a few days afterwards.

I wouldnt wait for anything.
The software is great. I was sketchy at first but the functionality is godly.
Very solid.

I would add the version available right now if it were me.. oh wait.. i am running the rc 8 rather then waiting for gold

as Joe said the Pre Release Team is testing the GOLD version.
We're preparing some last things to get the release out as soon as possible.
