What is in the content of the other directory?
vBSEO is generally used for the forum, and must be installed in the forum root.The Forum Hosting - Forum Hosting from the Forum Experts

The other directory contains custom scripts which use vBulletin as a backend.

Okay, sounds good
One more thing before I go ahead and purchase, I understand that vBSEO does 301 redirects for threads that have had their titles changed. Does it perform this sort of functionality for custom scripts as well (I'll be having a static ID as part of the URL)?

vBSEO doesn't apply that automatically for non-forum URLs.
