vbseo not work with GoDaddy ?

I've been trying to install your sitemap product on my vbulletin forum but your staff have told me it's incompatible with GoDaddy hosted sites.

I really need some SEO, so, would the VBseo product work with GoDaddy?

I have mod_rewrite activated (fully tested, no problems) but staff have said

There is not much we can do since Godaddy doesn't allow their customers to use .htaccess file for php files.
vbseo use's the htaccess file aswell, how does it differ allowing it to be used on GoDaddy hosted sites?

    Thanks.

    Hello Steven ,

Unfortunately Godady have a different setting. You shall contact them and ask them to activate mod_rewrite for php files.

I would never recommend using them as a shared host.

I use them with a dedicated server and haven't had any problems out of them. But then - I have total control over the server, so I install whatever I need.

Godaddy is bad for shared hosting.

I would only consider them for VPS or Dedicated.

Thanks, it's pretty clear that vbSEO doesn't work with a shared hosting account on GoDaddy at all.

I'm surprised the staff here don't know that.

you get what you pay for. most $10/month plans won't support a lot of things mostly for security and stability reasons. If you break something, all the rest of their clients on that box will go down too.

there are some pretty cheap VPS solutions out there... most start around 35 bucks a month.

found this one after some quick googling. not affiliated in anyway, and honestly, can't say i've ever heard of them nor will i vouvh for their service.

I just installed Vbseo on my site which is also shared hosting with Godaddy. Is it only the sitemap generator that does not work with them or is it Vbseo entirely?

As far as I know, we have customers successfully using vBSEO and vBSEO Sitemap Generator on GoDaddy hosting.
