| VBSEO and Newly created Forums
Hi all-- I am New to the Forum Owner world and I have a few questions regarding the VBSEO applications. My two forums are currently new to the web. One is currently live and is receiving some local traffic from my area. The other is on the net, but the forum is closed as I am finishing on some graphics and the such. I hope to go live in a few weeks. Questions I have is this: Is VBSEO a good choice for a "New Forum", or should I wait for a bit before installing it? All of these terms are new to me, Linkbacks, indexes, and the such. What are their relevance? Keywords are espesually confusing to me as I am not sure how to use them. will VBSEO help me choose these words? Thanks in advance for the help! |

You should install vBSEO as early as possible for maximum success. Linkbacks is just a term that describes many different ways that other sites can "link" back to your site. Linkbacks to your site can help boost your site's ranking in the search engines. Keywords are just words that relate to your topic. In your case, this is automotive terms, etc. These occur naturally as you and your guests/members create content on your site. For every thread created, vBSEO will automatically optimize each page for the keywords used to create it. You can get more advanced with your keyword analysis. For instance, if you know which terms are searched for more often, you can use that information to choose better *titles for your forum names*, and which new threads will add a lot of value to your forums when you start creating new content. Sometimes going after terms that are searched very often is a good strategy. Other times you will find that you can be more successful by targeting terms that are searched for less often, but are related, and their is less competition. By focusing on these lower volume terms, you can actually gain more new traffic from them. Try something like wordtracker.com for keyword research to find out how often terms are searched for, as well as which terms are related to the keywords you specify. vBSEO does not help you choose keywords. vBSEO optimizes for *any* keyword that is placed on your site. Keep this in mind as a moderator when you see new threads getting created with title's such as "Hey!", etc. These have 0% content value, so edit the titles with something that better reflects from the post is really about.
