Question vbseo on a large forum?

    Hi,

I'm the admin of a rather large forum.

We using one dedicated dual quad core machine (2.0Ghz), 8Gb of ram and linux as OS (Apache & MySQL). On this machine we are running a rather small website, advertising software (OpenX) and vBulletin 3.7.1

Or vbulletin stats are: Threads: 211,703, Posts: 1,877,028, Members: 18,990, Active Members: 6,056

And we are doing it very well in the google index (dutch forum). Google site links: 258,000

    I'm thinking of buying vbseo.

    - Are there specials things that i must take care of it? Since i don't want to lose google results because of a setup mistake.
    - Is there a time frame when vbseo 3.2 gold will be released, since i don't like to upgrade some weeks after installation, or running RC software.
    - Will vbseo make sense on a large forum with a lot of links to us, and the google results with are already give us good incomming trafic.
    - Other advise?

    Thanks,
    P

Peter - large forums often see a quicker impact with vBSEO.

One thing you need to do is ensure that you decide on which vBSEO URL format you want to use before hand, because you do NOT want to update that once set:
    http://www.vbseo.com/demo/

If you are going to use our Relevant Phrases, then you should be prepared to add the right off the bat to take advantage of the increased crawling activity you will see when Google and others notice the update.

vBSEO 3.2 GOLD should be released very soon. We are confident that all remaining issues have been corrected since RC7.

Once you purchase, I believe you meet the criteria for our private Big Board forum. I'll have to check with Juan on that. If so, you'll get to participate in discussions with other top admins who may have extra advice for you from that perspective.

    Hello Peter ,

    vBSEO runs on several BigBoards.

If you are already doing good in Google , i believe you'll do great with vBSEO.

During installation you should check vBSEO optimization tips that can be located at vBSEO Optimization Tips
vBSEO 3.2.0 Gold will be released soon but unfortunately we cannot give an estimate date.

As i stated if you are already doing good with Google , after vBSEO installation your site will do great. You may want to read the success story of Psicofxp.com forums $1400 in One Day with vBSEO!

Installation vBSEO takes 2-3 inutes. However the first configuration may take 15-20 minutes. After this upgrades will be no hassle. Upgrade process is completed in 2-3 minutes as it is only file upload and product import. Thats why you should not delay purchasing vBSEO.

Thanks for the answers. Still 2 other questions:

I assume that this is no problem?

I buy the software and installed on my private (apache passwd) test forum (http://test.domainname.com), after some weeks testing and playing with the settings I want the software installed on my live forum http://forum.domainname.com).

    Second question:

My forum is now running on http://forum.domainname.com and has in apache also an alias for http://forum.domainname.be What will happen after installing vbseo? Will the forum links on domainname.be redirected to http://forum.domainname.com (with is the real forumURL).

    Thanks,
    Peter

    1. Yes, you can have a test license attached to your real license.

    2. vBSEO uses what ever URL is defined in your vBulletin Options.

I have done my purchase on 06-23-2008 and did a request to join the big board forum on the same day, but still no respons.

May I understand that my board is not a valid "big board"? Stats today are: Threads: 215,019, Posts: 1,905,739, Members: 19,430

I had hoped to find there more advice since I activate this week vbseo on my forum.

    Thanks,
    Peter
