    Hello,

yes, vBSEO is UTF-8 compatible, you can set "Keep non-English characters in URLs" option in vBSEO Control Panel and enable UTF8 option in vBSEO config file to have URLs similar to wikipedia:

A very basis explanation to our *linkback* system, is simply:

Automatic links *to* and *from* your forum and other sites (such as blogs/forums).

A user links to a blog on your site, and you *might* get a link *from that blog*, *to your site*.

Each of your thread pages will also keep track of links to itself. On each page it will contain a list of links that were created *to your site*, *from other blogs/forums*.

Havings links to/from your site and others (if the sites are of similar topics) is good for SEO.

Let's say you post a link to a blog with a post on your forum. vBSEO then sends a *pingback* to the blog, letting it know that you have placed a link.
    • The blog *may* then post a snippet containing a portion of your post and the link back to it, in the comments area.
    • *If* this happens (depends on the blog settings/admin), the blog will then notify vBSEO that it has created a link.
    • It is *at this point* that the blog linkback *to your site* will be displayed in your linkback section.
vBSEO has essentially enabled forums to act just like blogs when it comes to pingbacks and trackbacks.

And we created vBSEO's proprietary RefBacks which have since been duplicated all over the Web by other software providers. This allows us to build links *from* our forums, *to* external sites that are also linking to us.

Remember: Inbound and outbound links are good for SEO, but only when they are relevant. That is why we have built an easy to use moderating system allowing you to instantly approve/disapprove or delete any linkback you receive.

Pingback is a request sent by the HTTP protocol. vBSEO sends these in the background.

Any content management system has the ability to do them if they choose to implement them within their code.

Prior to vBSEO's adding them to vBulletin, they were almost exclusively used only in blogs.

When adding the linkback system to vBSEO, vBSEO creator Juan Muriente, recognized and stated the new features ability to start the "convergence of the blogosphere with the forumsphere".

Ping back is built in to vbseo, and uses some of vBulletin's core system ajax to do the request.

As long as your site has it enabled, you will be able to both send and receive.
If a "B" site RPC's your site, vbseo will pick up the ping/link/track back.
If the "B" site does not have it enabled, no harm done-- you just sent a request that went unanswered is all.

It's a very common. It's enabled on millions of blogs and thousands of vBSEO-enabled forums.

Gaining links to your site from other relevant sites is one of the most influential SEO aspects at your disposal. Our linkback system provides an opportunity for this to occur almost without any effort at all.
