Hi I'm about to buy vbseo but my website makes heavy use of vbadvanced and pretty much all the content in the homepage is a "latest threads" module featuring just the latest threads created.
Is this something not recommended? Or is it ok?

Hello,
vBSEO is fully compatible with vBa cmps, there should be no issues with it.
You can even rewrite vBa URLs using vBSEO's Custom Rewrite Rules.

I'm using vBAdvanced and vBSEO on CWE. It works great.
I'm using vbSEO for my precious metals forum.
Using "recent" threads is just a list of the last few posted. It says nothing about the quality of the content, how well optimized it is, etc.
Since they can get that with a new posts link, because it directs traffic to low value content, dilutes link value passed to those pages, and often will contain threads with low chance of encouraging click through, I would rather spare all those negatives, and simply focus on different types of content for the homepage.
Top threads, staff blogs, staff stickies, etc would be better choices than recent threads.
ok and what about this:
I'd like people to focus on threads instead of forums.
So I designed a homepage based on displaying threads directly and I'm giving no access to the default forum listing.
Is that a good idea? Please let me know what is the recommended homepage configuration for what I want.
The same would apply to you in terms of promoting better quality threads on your homepage.
However, I am not sure about removing the idea of "category" throughout your entire site, if that is what you have done.
I have participated on forums, where I spent almost all my time in one category only. The rest of the forums were of lower interest to me. Had it been missing category, it would have been more difficult for me to find what I was looking for. In my case, this may likely have resulted in me participating less frequently.
