    Vb seo vb cms

I've read and been told so many different things about how well the CMS on VB4 does or doesn't work, it is terribly confusing. People have told me it is not SEO friendly even with VBSEO installed. Is this true, if so, to what extent, what specific aspects are not SEO friendly?

I plan to use VBSEO. If the CMS is still a serious search engine problem even with VBSEO, then I'll have to use a 3rd party CMS.

    Thanks
    Jamie

The CMS is still rough, but it's getting better with every point release. I'd say it's 'good enough' at this point to not deal with the integration hassles and bridges needed to run 2 systems. And, it will only get better as time goes on and vB puts more work into it.

Ultimately, it's up to you. Load a dev site, play around with it. See if you like it.

Thanks. Looks like 4.1.1 is the latest, I just downloaded it. Should I get VB up and running, build my forms, etc. then buy and add in VBSEO. Or should I install VB, then immediately install VBSEO before editing any other settings?

    Thanks,

    Jamie

It doesn't really matter if there's no content in it. Just ignore any of the vb 'seo' settings, as vbseo over-rides all of them.

Thanks. I'll get VB installed and be back within the next few days to get this going.

Thanks, I will use the VB CMS for article managment, but have a question about my blog for my site:

For my last forum, I did a separate WordPress blog. Do you think it is still work running a site blog in WordPress or would you use the blog system built into VB 4.1.1 for your main sites blog?

I don't why a site needs it's own blog. A simple 'news' forum category should suffice.
