Upgrading vBulletin from 3.0.x, and test scripts

    Hi everyone, two questions:

    1. If I install this now on a 3.0.x board and then upgrade, will I be able to create the same link structure easily after I upgrade? (So the spidered links don't break.)

    2. The test.php script to see whether I have a Zend or ionCube installed returned as positive for ionCube, even though I had no idea this was installed on the server. Is it possible that the test script might be wrong?

    1. yes

    2. yes it could be wrong, it was wrong for me, I did not have ioncube installed. View a detailed report from the test script, and look at Additional Modules, ioncube loader should be listed there.

Yes, the test script is not 100% accurate. However, ionCube not necessarily needs to be installed on the server as the run-time loaders work just as well and they are included with the script.

Either way, we will make sure it works for you

It's for a client of mine, and we don't have SSH access - is that a problem?

I'm pretty confident that if the script shows ionCube available, it'll work with the runtime loaders.
