Upgrade or Renew?

I currently have two licenses with vbSEO, and I'm ready to renew [one of the licenses]....

Problem is, when I go and do it - because I need 3.5. I see the following under vBSEO 3.5.0 GOLD (PR):

Release date: May 2, 2010
To access this download you must upgrade.

Don't tell me I have to re-pay vbSEO for something I already have installed on my site??

Your licenses are both expired. In order to get versions released after your expiration date, you must order the $35 renewal fee.

I just wanted to be clear. But then, I realized that I posted in a thread similar to this.
