    Too small

I'm setting up a new forum at the moment to move an existing community that has been in existence for over 12 years. The community is max 400 users and will probably not go much higher than that. That's fine, it's not about the numbers for this group as it's such as incredibly niche topic (a specific style of lacemaking that until recently was considered to be lost)

So, I'm thinking that this product is not really worthwhile for us, getting to the top of search rankings doesn't really matter to us and to be honest the price is steep for such a small forum on top of our vb licence. If you can convince me otherwise I can start to save up, but be warned we are donation only so we get just enough to cover our costs each year plus a tiny amount to save up and spend on goodies so it's going to take me a while!

However, what I really really really want is the skin! Is there any way that you could see fit to release this beyond your customers? Perhaps in a different colour combination or something to differentiate it and with your links in the footer etc, but I would def be willing to pay a little something for it because I just don't have the skills to copy it and don't like that idea anyway.

    Please please please?????

    Sparkly,

We may be releasing the 1.0 style to all users in the future. It's a possibility.

What is your goal for your forum? You must want to keep the current community active, you want to see if anyone else out there will join, you want to make money?

Have you considered ad enabling it?

That would be so great if you did release it - I know a lot of people seem to be after it.

My little community is quite active, most of them are in guilds and we get the majority of our new members from craft guilds. I do sell adverts in the current setup to suppliers, not so after growing as keeping the wonderful community that we have.

I bet there's a bunch of others out there who don't know of your site the same way you don't think there are other people out there in your niche that aren't on your site yet

Most likely - but it's still a lot of cash for such a small site!

My recommendation for all customers is to view vBSEO as an investment. For instance, private forums that are not publicly accessible get less direct value back from vBSEO because the search engines can't crawl them.

Many of these forums still choose vBSEO because they want to take advantage of the URL structure. One big example is Aaron Wall's private SEO community:
    SEO Community Forums

Now for you, it depends on your goals and how much you value the outcome of increased traffic and ad revenue.

    • Compare the vBSEO lifetime license fee with an equivalent value in AdWords spending. vBSEO will provide to be vastly more cost effective.
    • Consider the additional revenues from ad placements at your site, when vBSEO increases your traffic.
    • Consider the value of finding and converting new content producing users who are in your strongly focused niche.
    • Of course, as a customer you also get instant access to the vBSEO 1.0 style.

There are lots of ways to discover the amazing value that vBSEO provides. Several of our customers have told us they would have paid thousands of dollars for a single license of vBSEO based on how much it has paid them back. We're flattered, but don't worry, we have no current plans to raise the price.

For almost all forums out there, vBSEO is one of the most important, and rewarding, investments a webmaster can make.
