We expect only positive results. SEO best practices are out there for anyone to read about and implement. vBSEO is just the software that automates completing many of them for you.

If you are getting traffic for a thread, then you should consider leaving its title the same.

But - I personally suggest that admins/moderators proactive edit bad titles. I do it myself, and have actually edited some titles just today actually to add better info to the titles.

I agree. SOmeimtes I will just ADD information to the title, but that is also bad: a new redirect :(

It's best to do it early. It's only a redirect if it's already indexed. Content that is not yet indexed, won't need a redirect. The search engines will only find the new location.

Remember, the %-age of your content that is changed will likely be fairly low unless you dedicate a staff member to constantly reviewing and changing everything.

This is not an area that I would be concerned about negative SEO impact. I would expect only positive things to come from improving thread titles.

Also, the standard Vbulleti narchive; that wil lstill be operational? Since they direct anyhow to the "main" vbulletin thread when clicking on the ful lversion of the page.
