Thinking of buying vBSEO-few questions before I do!

    Hello everyone,

I am considering buying vBSEO, however, I have a few questions before I do so.

I own a few websites, and like any other webmaster, spend hours on end on a few forums each day, but I have never owned a website which has a forum. So in that respect, I am completely new to this.

I decided to develop a site with a forum, vBSEO was the obvious first choice.

Now, here are my questions: (please bare with me, as some of the questions might seem really naive)
    1. Do I need to buy vBulletin and install vBSEO over and above it or will the vBSEO package include the vBulletin forum.
    2. vBulletin.org has a modules section, which can be used by vBulletin license owners (like everyone here knows i'm sure), does a vBSEO license have access to this forum?
    3. I plan to buy vBClassifieds. I want to know if vBSEO is compatible with vBClassifieds, I found a post on the vBClassifieds forum which raises the same issue (LINK), however, the thread is somewhat old, and the posts don't seem to lead to anything decisive!!! I was hoping the staff here will be able to throw some light on that.
    4. Lastly, If I have two forums installed on the same domain namely, www.mysite.com/classifieds/ and www.mysite.com/discussion-boards/ will I need two licenses instead of one?
Thanks in advance! All responses appreciated, hoping to join your community soon!

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Aditya ,

    1. vBSEO is an addon for vBulletin . In order to install vBSEO you need a vBulletin installation. You need to purchase vBulletin from vBulletin® - Instant Community
    2. If you own a vBulletin license you can use any mod from vBulletin.org. vBSEO license has no effect at vbulletin.org as Crawlability Inc. and Jelsoft are not affliated.
    3. vBSEO has a Custom Rewrite Module which you can specify custom rewrite rules for vBulletin addons. After your purchase you can ask assistance on creating CRR's for vBClassifieds.
    4. vBSEO license is good only for 1 vBulletin installation. If you have more than 1 installation you need to purchase more than one license.

If you have any more question please donot hesitate to ask them

    Hello.

    1) vBSEO is an add-on for vBulletin, so vBulletin needs to be installed and configured before installing vBSEO.

    2) Crawlability (makers of vBSEO) and Jelsoft (makers of vBulletin) are not affiliated with each other. When you purchase vBulletin from Jelsoft, you will have access to vBulletin.org

    3) vBSEO will not interfere with it, and you can use vBSEO's Custom Rewrite Rules to rewrite some or all of its URLs. vBSEO has no built-in, native, support for vBClassifieds at this time.

    4) You would need two vBulletin licenses, and two vBSEO licenses if you wanted to run two separate forums.

    Aditya,

a good way to get around the double license issue is easy if you simply set up the fourms correctly.

With vbseo, you can define /classifieds/ and /discussion-boards/ to be your two main forum names

from there, you can simply place everything below it in a sub catgegory

    Main site
    -FORUM
    -- classifieds
    --- for sale
    --- etc
    -- discussion
    --- chit chat
    --- etc

This way, when they are in discussion, they only see the discussion topics, and when they are in classifieds, they only see the classifieds stuff.

As a forum root, they will have only the two choices- classifieds or the discussion boards -- to enter.
