Think I might try it.. a few ?'s

My board is 3.6.4 about 18k users and 400k posts, fairly active. My server load is anywhere from 0.20 in slow periods to 1.30-1.80 at extreme times. I am a little concerned how the influx in new search traffic will impact my server. I want to be sure that if needed I can cleanly uninstall this if I have to. Does installing this run a script that changes data in my databases or is it adjusting the threads on the fly? If I get this should i install the v3.0? Is it stable enough or is there anything to worry about? That's all I can think of for now.

Based on your reported server loads I don't foresee any problems. Although I'd suggest some tweaking from the get go like adding the rewrite rules to your httpd.conf file as opposed to your .htaccess file. See: rewrite question
