Suggested Settings for New Forum?

I've just installed my 1st vBulletin and digging through all the myriad of options. Is there a list of the recommended vBulletin (not vbseo) settings for forums or do I just need to figure this out as I go along?

For general vBulletin questions, you can find lots of info at www.vbulletin.com.

Most of the options are just user preference though, so your best bet is to play around with them to meet your needs.
