I cannot speak for anyone else, but my forum is getting more traffic from 7500 pages in google (so far in the first month) than it did from 55,000 without vbseo...

Also, since you are not switching domains, the old urls will just be rewritten to the new urls. Nothing disappears immediately (of course only if you are currently using vbulletin, otherwise you will have to do custom rewrites).

I have been running an SEO link exchange for years... trust me when i say that my links have been decreasing year after year... so why would VB seo do any better for my forums?

in fact has any standard forum made any money using VBseo? this does not inlcude the person that bought a car from programming VBseo...and this does not include owners with 10+ VB sites either...most owners only have 1 VB domain/forum

I have made a lot more money. Since installing vbSEO, board revenue has increased 10-15x (in one month!) That is a combination of affiliate sales, advertising revenue and of course adsense. My google referrals have gone from zero to about 600 a day and I am getting about 7 new memebers registering each day.

This is only after installing vbseo. In one month I paid for my vbseo license easily and had a lot of extra revenue for putting back into the site for improvements.

I have not read that article you refer to, as I am not a big fan of cars in general so I would not buy one with the revenue I generate. I saw the title but did not read it...

those are impressive numbers on google...I know its been hard for me to get listed in google, and when i am listed, its not more then a few listings, those are impressive numbers..how long have you had your forum... I will be getting VB very soon, so I do not expect numbers like that, I just hope vbseo will do good for me as i always hear good news about it from others.

The forum is brand new on that domain name. Launched Dec 1st 2006.

It had been on a different domain name for about 4 years. On the old domain, there were about 55k pages indexed. I moved the forum in full to a vbulletin forum from phpbb and changed the domain name (tough decision, but the right one).

This put the site back at square one, with the exception that I have a lot of content already, just waiting to be sponged up by google.

In a month, I am getting about 3x the referrals per day what the old site ever got from google and that is with only 7500 pages indexed so far, and zero PR. When I survey the referrals from google, my forum pages are showing in the top 5 serps for about 90% of all the referrals I am getting.

I am impressed with vbseo so far. I have another thread where I am tracking my results. I will be updating it on the 10th or 11th as that will be 1 month since I installed it on my forums.

Just wanted to clear up this point... Brian did not program vBSEO, nor is he even a staff member here. He's a vBSEO user just like many others...

The whole point of me linking you to that is to show that he had a established forum and his site is doing well with vbseo

I have been running an SEO link exchange for years... trust me when i say that my links have been decreasing year after year... so why would vBulletin seo do any better for my forums?
vBulletin SEO - The Ultimate Guide - vBulletin Zone Why I think vBulletin out of the box is horrible for SEO

You sit down and figure out how to come up with some solid proof on an increase in income and I'll use it. It's not possible. My income is up a ton from when I didn't have VBSEO. I believe the program has helped me earn more money. Can I prove it? No. However I know what I know. It has worked for me. Whether or not you end up choosing it is up to you and won't affect me in anyway. So all I can do is point you to things that say "Hey vbseo should work due to vBulletin doing x, y, and z horrible stock. Common sense says if you only have one link to your threads instead of 8 links that people can choose to link to you will do better.

Just my .02 If I sound annoyed I am not. Just giving my opinion straight up. I have been through a lot with my forums and learned a lot of what to do and what not to do. It is of my opinion you will do much better with VBSEO if you use it and stick to a consistent url structure and give it time.

GGG, I think your site seems to be doing great. I would not want to risk that either. You would need to make a plan to make sure that you don't damage your results so far.

There comes a point where tinkering with success only causes problems. It sounds like you are already very successful, and changing things without proper planning could be a disaster. At least you are in the enviable position of wanting to preserve your success. Good luck in whatever you decide!

Not to be a smart ass, but that is just a long winded word to say less than 1500.

That is a pretty good number from one search engine. That tells me that google likes and values your content. vBSEO set up and left alone will increase that if you let it.

The temporary drop off in referrals is well worth the increase you will get long term. Ultimately, it is up to you though. We can all tell you it is better until we are blue in the face, you have to want to try it to truly find out
