Arrow Some questions

Hello

I've heard some good stuff about vbSEO, so I thought I should check it out, the price was a bit higher than I expected, but since I am really into SEO I think it worth it.

Before I go ahead and purchase the script, I need to make sure of the following:
1- Iam currently using vB 3.5.2, with a custom skin, I am also using vBdrupal on the root directory, both vBdrupal and the forum have SE friendly urls, how will the script work with this? can it be installed on both? and will it work with the custom skin?

2- I currently have aound 20,000+ indexed pages on Google, I am not really sure how would your script help with the optimization of those pages?

Thats about it I guess, looking fwd.for your reply.

Thank you.

Yes, that's the first impression many times, but I can assure you that once you have it running, especially on a content rich website, your perception will change 180 degrees

Yes and yes. It will work flawlessly with custom templates as the script is non-intrusive (it modifies output on the fly) if your output is processed by the vB engine, it is vBSEO compliant. With regards to vBdrupal, it doesn't include native support for it, however, it wont break it either. With the custom rewrite rules module (included with vBSEO), you'll be able to rewrite vBdrupal URLs as well.

There are various ways vBSEO will help with regards to optimization for those pages. The main I can think of right now are:
  1. Link Consensus - You won't have multiple urls pointing to the same content. Having consistent URLs pointing to single resources on your website increases relevancy for those 'unique' resources.
  2. Static URLs - Google is getting better at indexing dynamic url's, but there is still value to having statics (Google.com: Dynamic vs. Static URLs)
  3. Content Relevant URLs (CRUs) - Increase relevancy associated to the thread's title.
  4. Guide Spiders - vBSEO adds rel="nofollow" to a bunch of links that shouldn't be followed (by default). You also have the option to allow spiders to index specific content such as showthread and printthread pages (or) internal, external links, etc. (see the interface options for rel="nofollow" here)
  5. Relevant Replacements - Easily create phrases related to your threads content. Display these using simple variables in your templates.
  6. Monetizing - soon (next version, 2.3.3) will include Google Adsense targeting tags (basically you'd be telling Google: "this is relevant to the page's content and this isn't" )
  7. Cleanup HTML Code - will increase your Content-to-Code ratio and speed up the loading of your pages
  8. Image size attributes - assigns image size attributes thus increasing the speed of page rendering for most browsers (you know how sometimes vB pages look like they are being 'constructed' as you open them? not anymore with this feature
  9. eghmmm what else? Oh.. a great new feature: "Add Thread Titles" - replaces internal links with the actual thread titles. This increases keyword rich internal linking.
I guess those are the most important points, but there are a bunch more, you'll discover them as you play with the interface. Of course, vBSEO is NOT the holy grail for SEO, it focuses on in-site optimization, it's your job to work on other SEO related tasks such link building, etc.

I hope this helps!
