    Some quesitons

    1. I have a lot of interlinking in threads and places on my site. Will I have to manually update every link to point to the new, static URL? I understand vBSEO has 301's that will redirect, but is it not a good idea to leave the old URLs?
    2. Will this also work with PhotoPostPHP (I haven't installed it yet, but will be installing it soon)?
    3. Is the sitemap addon included in vBSEO, or do I have to install that seperately?
    4. I couldn't really find a place that describes exactly whatvBSEO does, at least not in full. I understand the benefits, but what exactly does it do? I know the mod_rewrite part... what else?

    Thanks in advance,
    Tim L. Walker

Hi Tim, here are some responses to your questions (in order):

    1. No, the interlinking will be automatically updated by vBSEO.

    - It's not a good idea to leave the old URLs, but (yes) our 301 redirects take care of all that. When Google or other engines attempt to crawl the old dynamic (ending in .php) pages, they will update to the new versions.

    2. vBSEO is compatible with almost all plugins or other products you run along with vBulletin. I believe we do have members that are successfully running it.

    3. Sitemap is installed separately: vBulletin Sitemap

    4. vBSEO is feature rich and includes features for onpage seo, restructuring of a sites address hierarchy (including URL rewriting), and link building. The best place to get a sense of all the features is to check out the vBSEO Demo.

Thanks for answering my questions. Do you recommend I install the sitemap part first, or after? My site is not completely vBulletin. It's a drupal-based site, with vB imbedded inside. Will this make a difference on how it works (especially with the mod_rewrite)? If you want to take a look, the site I want to install vBSEO on is PhotographyCorner.com

    Thanks.

I recommend you install the sitemap AFTER.

Yeah, I guess installing it after makes a lot more sense, doesn't it? :duh:

What about the current mod_rewrites I have on the drupal site of PhotographyCorner?

That all depends on how your site is set up.

is drupal in ./ (root) and vB in /forums?

Tim, if your Drupal pages are in the root and vBulletin is in the forums/ folder, there should be no conflicts by default, therefore, no special actions will be required.

Ok, great, that's how I have it set up. Hopefully this weekend I'll have a chance to play with the demo, and get it installed early next week. Just need to give myself the time to go over it all. :P I'll probably have more questions, though.

Just thought of another question. Since I am installed PhotoPostPHP shortly, should I install vBSEO before or after PhotoPost? Is there an example of a site with PhotoPost and vBSEO for me to look at what it does to PhotoPost URLs?

Cool... does the CRR come with vBSEO or is that your own?

Yep CRR comes with vBSEO. There is a CRR section here and you can find a different CRR for each modification.

Ahh... I see I'm going to need to schedule a full day to install and go over all this... hehe.

Just to reask one of my questions: "Since I am installed PhotoPostPHP shortly, should I install vBSEO before or after PhotoPost?"

vBSEO installation takes only 5 minutes. Confugiring CRR's takes like 30 min. max . You'll upload the files in upload folder. Import the product and go to yoursite.com/vbseocp.php and make your settings.
