You're best off simply running a WP sitemap generator tool and submitting it to the webmaster tools area along side the forum directory sitemap.

Hi Brian, would you recommend setting up 2 sites in Google webmaster tools for the primarydomain.com as well as primarydomain.com/forums or is it best for me to just add additional sitemaps of the forum under the primary domain itself?

Oh and btw I set a super long and hard password when installing vbseo and I realised I need to login quite often and theres no option to change the password lol, is there anyway I can change the paswd? Thanks!

I would simply add it as a second sitemap to one account area. No point in calling it a seperate site when it's not.

I own a gaming network, and one of the products is my blog which can be found here - www.carlos360.com

And I have several vbulletin instances at www.mw2boards.com and boards.carlosx360.me they both use the sitemaps by vbSEO. I do not have a sitemap for the blog because I don't want to be messing around with the Wordpress core system yet, and I want an official one made by wordpress, but my point here is...

You do not need to worry about having a wordpress and a forum in the same server [or the same root/filepath], and also shouldn't worry about filenames being mixed up or not picked up.

With all due respect, some sitemaps websites designate each filename as "separate" websites. For example, when I submitted my sitemap to yahoo, I sent them my sitemap url, but when I tried submitting a RSS feed, I found out that you have to use the url relative to that RSS feed. EXACTLY as it shows at the trailing. So, this would have to mean that I had to submit yet another "site" and add RSS from there.

And that is in-correct to do so. It is one site and should be under one site. You should never submit an rss feed as a sitemap when you have an xml version.

That's not what I meant, look below for what I meant.

Image #1 shows that for each file TYPE, you'd need to add it as a "site." Now in image 2, THAT'S where you put your RSS feed path.

    That is incorrect.

You should not have for example
    mw2boards.com
    and
    mw2baords.com/sitemap_index.xml.gz

The sitemap should be UNDER the mws2boards heading. And since you have an xml file, you should not submit an rss feed.
