Sitemap Question before I Buy

Hi,

I am very keen on getting this right now but I have a quick qn in regards to sitemaps:

Lets say I have a wordpress blog running on my main domain and the forums running on mysite.com/forums and I have over 100 WPMU blogs running on mysite.com/blognames

After installing vbseo, how do I make it such that all the sitemaps can be combined together? Or does Google accept multiple sitemaps from different directories? In Google Webmaster tools I am only able to see there is only 1 URL to enter for Sitemaps, it doesnt give me the option to enter more than 1 sitemap URL.

Please advise me on how this can be done, I hope this can be done with vbseo as I see vbseo is going to create another sitemap for me in the forums directory and I am not sure how that would affect my rankings when there is multiple sitemaps.

Hello, first let me welcoming you to vBSEO Community!.

You can have all sitemaps you need for each script running on your site added to your Google Webmasters Account. Google accept multiple sitemaps and doesn't take care of the quantity at all. You can send more than a sitemap, what happens is that you should send them one by one.

You can't add your Wordpress URLs together with your forums URLs using our Sitemap Generator tool, your forum would be placed on another directory, thus, you would need an external sitemap for your Wordpress blogs.

Your rankings will not be affected at all, the quantity of sitemaps has nothing to do, what matters is the quality inside them.

I have another quick qn as I proceed to buy vbseo now, do you know if Google sees multiple sitemaps on the same domain as different entities hence not counting all the link juices from sharing with each other directories or will they still count as 1 site being able to share all the link juice leverage?

Like for example, Google sees sub-domain as a separate entity as compared to the primary domain hence any link juice that goes to the sub-domain will not spill over to the homepage primary domain. So the question comes, if I were to have multiple sitemaps on 1 domain with all blogs, forums on sub-folders etc instead of sub-domain, would Google count them as different entities due to them being able to see multiple sitemaps?

The above is my concern for having just 1 sitemap with all links added into 1 sitemap instead of having multiple sitemaps. Because if Google sees them as different entitles, then I might need to look for a solution for vbulletin forums sitemap to be integrated with the main wordpress sitemap so that all the link juices can be spilled over and as a result greatly increasing the link juice profile of the whole site.

Google will see all of your links as a same entity, BUT coming from multiples resources (in this case, your sitemaps), because your forums and Wordpress are based on a same domain.

If you would install your forum on a separate subdomain (http://community.mydomain.com/ for example), Google will give you statistics, logs and results separately, because you would need to add and confirm another account (the subdomain) that will track your forum completely appart.

I hope there is an invoice billed to the right address, otherwise this is going to be a big problem for me. That said, I am surprised there isn't anywhere in the client area to view paid invoices, also as a feedback I think invoices and receipts should be generated and sent to the customer upon purchase without having to ask for it =/

You can always manually add those WP urls to /vbseo_sitemap/extra-urls.txt and they will be picked up on the next vBSEO sitemap generator run. I did that with my static site and those urls were indexed within 12 hours.
