Just a couple of questions for the group.

Once vBseo changes the URLs into a more search engine friendly format, what happens to links that point to your site which are in the old format?

What is the best method for taking a snapshot of your board's search engine effectiveness so that you can better judge how vbseo has improved it?

the old links will be 301 redirected to the new version
using google analytics is a good tool to measure

Hi Jake, as Brandon stated, our 301 redirects will ensure that all old URLs get forwarded to the new.

One way to encourage a faster update is to simply install our sitemap plugin in addition to vBSEO. We recommend all customers to install our sitemap, of course.

Google Analytics is certainly our preferred stats package, although many choices are available and can be useful.

One of the biggest advantages of vBSEO is that it is long tail focused SEO software. In particular, this means that our primary objective is to help turn your user generated traffic into thousands of visits for thousands of *different* keywords. This differs from the old SEO focus on doing everything to rank for just a few really high traffic keywords.
