Rewriting Threads

I'm looking to purchase VBSEO for an existing forum that has 27 thousand threads. During installation is there an option to choose how many or even zero past threads get rewritten?

I'm concerned about google's reindexing of that many threads through 301's. So, if the above isn't possible, do you have any examples of sites with forums of that size that didn't have a negative SE performance after installation?

hondaswap.com has over 80,000 threads and it only improved the traffic after the threads were reindexed with the new URL's.

No harm in reindexing to a new URL

No, links are re-written on-the-fly, so they will all be affected if they are visited.
