    Question requirements and test version

    Ciao,

I know we have mod_rewrite installed but I don´t know where to get zend or ioncube or how to install it.
For a product in this price category I expect from the producer a little bit more information and background.

I know our server has Turk installed (I only know that we can encode files with Turk but I don´t know if Turk can do what we need to run your vBseo).

Do you have a test-script to check the requirements or do you offer a testversion? I don´t want to spend time and money in a project, that can´t be realized...
I also wan´t to check the server load and the compatibility.

I can´t find the yearly fee for the upgrades after the first 12 months.

    Regards
    André

    Hello André,

    Answers to your questions below:

For a product in this price category I expect from the producer a little bit more information and background.
Definitely. We are sorting things out - t's been hectic :(

I know our server has Turk installed (I only know that we can encode files with Turk but I don´t know if Turk can do what we need to run your vBseo).
A Turk encoded version will be available in the future. For now, we have Zend & Ioncube encripted versions only.

Do you have a test-script to check the requirements or do you offer a testversion? I don´t want to spend time and money in a project, that can´t be realized...
Yes, http://www.crawlability.com/check/test.zip - upload the script to your server and it'll advice you as far as which encription methods are available.

I also wan´t to check the server load and the compatibility.
Re: Server load - it has been tested in servers with upwards of 2000 concurrent users. Overloaded servers get further overloaded

Re: Compatibility - You need Apache and php (minimum: 4.0.6 but 4.3.3+ is recommended). PHP can be running as an Apache module or as CGI, no prob.

I can´t find the yearly fee for the upgrades after the first 12 months.
Sorry, this needs to be added to the checkout page. It is $US35 (see Multi-site license pack?)

    Cheers!

    thanks

ok, turk and zend works together on the machine. but I prefer to use turk.
can I change the version/licence (from zend to turk) after you released the turk version?

what about a (time limited) testversion?
Of course all software producer offers a full stable, fast and fine working software
But I want to test vbseo before I spent the money.

    regards

Absolutely. All the encoding options are available via the download location for all users.

The lite version, due shortly will allow you to test live. Of course, it does not have all the advanced features of the full version, but you can upgrade at anytime without loosing your already indexed results

    yup .. here I am *g*

I downloaded the test script and uploaded it to my webpack.
The result can be seen here:
    --> http://www.developers-guide.net/test.php?info=1

    I'm a little bit confused ..
The technical support of my webhost answers the question if ionCube is installed with "no, there is no ionCube installed" .. but the script tells me, that it is ..
Furthermore it says .. Zend Optimizer is not installed ... but .. wtf .. it is?

    Thanks for answering.

    Regards,
    Ben.

Hehehe... ionCube doesn't need to be natively installed in order to run the ionCube version.

If the server accepts the run-time loaders (which it does in this case), you'll be able to run the ionCube version just fine.

That's the information I needed. Thank you.

But why shows the test script that the Zend-Version of vBSEO ist not supported?

I think you'll understand why I am asking.
    Think about following scenario.

I buy vBSEO and try the ionCube-Version .. and .. woah .. it does not work.
Ok, my webhost said .. ionCube is not installed .. so, I won't get any help from them.
Okay, I'll try Zend-Version .. Zend Optimizer is installed .. but woah .. vBSEO does not work with it ..

In this case I would have payed 149$ .. to receive a plugin that I cannot use.
Hope you understand what I mean.

Can you guarantee that the ionCube-version works when the test script shows that it should work?

    Thank you for answering.
    Regards, Ben.

You will have access to download both the IonCube and the Zend versions. So if one doesn't work, and you need the other, you can just download that version.

    Hello Ben,

perhaps you have an older version of Zend Optimizer installed? If it is possible to upgrade it at your host, that may help.

You have Zend Optimizer 2.5.10, which should work correctly.

The test.php script relies on ob_start/ob_get_contents PHP functions to determine Zend compatibility, and it is possible that they're just not functioning as expected at your host and you have correct Zend version.
