Regarding heavily modified forums and vBSEO

Hi

I have 3 questions.

I have a heavily modified forum with at least 60 hacks installed and several custom template edits.
I have tried several other SEO alternatives for vBulletin that are working with mod rewrite but with all I had trouble.
Because of hacks installed bugs occurred like pagination did not work, urls where not reachable, other urls generated by a modification where not rewritten at all generating duplicate content and so on.

What if a hack is not supported/does not work with vBSEO?
Will you add support upon request?
In which time frame?

My second question is if vBSEO does 301 redirects for the old urls so that I don't lose any google listings I currently have?

Are you still having a no readable source policy?

Hello ,

vBSEO works nearly with all hacks. We never heard a report or a claim that a hack isnot working with vBSEO. Also with vBSEO you can create Custom Rewrite Rules for your hacks so you can have clean url's for the hacks also.

Yes vBSEO 301 redirects old forum urls.

vBSEO's source code is encoded and there are no plans to open te source in close feature.

CRR are not officially supported however vBSEO staff are always helpfull to their members. We always try to support our members.

The next Problem is, that we have APC Cache running on our Apache server.

Zend optimizer is not compatible with APC.

How about Ioncube?
Is there any experience with problems?
Are there any solutions despite getting rid of APC, which my admin will never do?

Or does vBSEO has the decoder included?
Is there a test script which could determine if vBSEO would run on my webserver?

Ioncube is fully compatible with APC Cache, you can get our test script in downloads area to determine compatibility.

How long does it usually take from a paypal payment to the delivery of the vBSEO License?

It can take up to 24 hours, but usually less than that. In some extreme cases it has taken longer than that, but it is usually due to missing or incomplete information.

We are thinking of buying vbseo and installing it prior to the launch of our forums. We are launching August 1st, and are about 90% complete regarding the other mods/hacks and design. Would you suggest installing the sitemap generator prior to vbseo or after?

You could install the sitemap generator now.. no reason not to really.

To which changes do you refer Starbug?

He does not have a running site yet as I understand it

If that's the case, he also won't have an .htaccess.. so the one that comes with the Sitemap Generator will be fine.

Then, once he installs vBSEO, he can simply upload the vBSEO .htaccess over the top of the one provided with the Sitemap Generator.

Not really too much of a change, in my humble opinion.
