Quick Branding Question

Hey, I was wondering if there were any restrictions on how visible the branding needed to be. For example: would something like what this website has, with the light text on light background and changing the URL, be acceptable?

If that is the case then the statement and link at the bottom of this page is misleading:

The page I posted above blatantly states:

Thus seemingly suggesting that the link on the footer is not required. Also the link on the footer on that pages directs to:

Changing or Un-linking Your vBSEO Copyright Notice

Which is an old post discussing that the link is NOT required and that you have options as to what you want the footer to display. I know the copyright info is required- but these posts make it seem as if an ACTIVE link is not.

Thanks for clearing that up I was just confused by the initial poster I guess. I don't see what is wrong with changing the link if you would have allowed him to remove the link. But I understand now!
