Question on urls

Hi

I just found this product through vBulletin.org. I am looking for a SEO solution for our forum. It seems that this product has a ton of features. I read through your site and it appears you can set up your urls to appear static, is this correct? (I notice that your own forum is showing question markets and such and would assume you would be using your own product in this forum so I am not sure why you urls are appearing like this?)

It also appears to create a site map of all your posts and threads which improves rankings. Is this correct?

Once I buy the product are there any other fees that I might incur down the line? Are new releases free?

Could you point out two other important features your product has that I should know about.

I tried to use your demo, but it came up in another language other then English so I could not read it, so I apologize for the questions.

Thanks

Brando

Where are you seeing question marks? All threads, forums, user profiles, etc (all the pages that search engines see, and that you want indexed) should appear as static URLs. You can use custom rewrite rules to rewrite ALL urls to static if you wish, but it's considered to be unnecessary and a waste of CPU by most people.

You own the license forever, but there is a yearly renewal fee of $35 if you want to download updated versions.

vBSEO Sitemap Generator is a free add-on for vBulletin, and is definitely recommended.

I just tried the demo and it appears in English to me. The second option on the control panel is this:
Quote:
vBSEO CP Interface Language
Select a language for the vBSEO Control Panel. Your language pack must be previously uploaded to the 'forums/includes/xml/' folder.
Make sure it has "English" chosen in the dropdown.

I saw the "?" at this url: https://www.vbseo.com/private.php?do=showpm&pmid=75947
Is this because it was a private message?

I am also now seeing a "?" and some other characters:
http://www.vbseo.com/newreply.php?do...uote=1&p=75283

I will check the demo again.

We have about 85,000+ threads and I am thinking that this is probably a no-brainer since our threads are not being indexed right now and I think that is really hurting us.

Thanks for the quick response. I need to have our tech guy test and make sure your software will work on our servers, but I can not imagine it will not.

Thanks

Brando

Search engines don't get PM's. And, URLs such as newreply.php, newthread.php, etc should all be blocked by ROBOTS.TXT. You don't want search engines indexing those. vBSEO, by default, only rewrites the URLs that should be indexed by search engines. Any other rewrites are strictly for visual effect only, and will use more CPU power to process.
