    Hello ,

Yes default options are optimal to use.

All rewrite settings are good on optimization. There is not one that gets better perfonmance. They are supplied as users may want to use different rewrite formats. Blogs are same format also.

You can find our installation instructions at : vBSEO 3.2.0 Readme File

Thanks for the prompt reply, Mert!

    One more question...

    6. Does it make a difference if vB Blog and/or Project Tools are installed before or after vBSEO?

I disagree. I think all of the presets have a fault in them in one way or another. Which is why i created my guide and included a settings xml file for easy config. see my sig.

you can install addons when ever you want, but its best to have vbseo from the start so there's never any 'bad urls' in any products.

    Thanks again Brian!

I have a couple more questions:

    6. Generally, how long does it take forum urls to start being indexed by the major SEO's?

    7. Is there a Hack on vBO to incorporate the link icons on the lower left corner of posts I'm seeing in threads here? IE: Digg, FURL, etc.

    8. Besides installing and customizing vBSEO do I need to do anything on SEO pages like Google or Yahoo to get my pages indexed?

    9. Is it recommended to install the vBSEO Google/Yahoo Sitemap Generator hack on vBO or would this create a conflict of some sort?

Sorry about all the questions but, I am totaly new to the world of SEO's.

    6) it depends on google.. generally, 2 or 3 days, you'll start noticing some changes... week 2 -3 the magic happens. week 5-7 ish things settle down and you're re-indexed with the new urls.

    7) thats built into vbseo. find the option for social bookmarks towards the bottom and enable it. Note, vb3.7 + has these as well... you probably don't want both enabled. I personally only use them for threads only, not posts, as i think it just adds bloat (and frankly, no one uses them)

    8) you should install the sitemap tool, and set up a google.com/webmasters account to track stuff

    9) yes. see #8. make sure you set the 'vbseo is installed' option correctly. It's also availble in the downloads section here.

no worries about the questions. keep 'em coming. others have the same questions, and if its on the forum they can search for it later.

I don't know why I'm having trouble finding things on this site, probably operator error but, I need to ask a couple more questions:

    10. Where can I find the vBSEO Installation Instructions? Found

    11. I plan to install vBSEO on my test system and my production system. Is that going to be a problem? My test system folder is locked down so that only administrators (me and 1 one other admin) can logon to it. I think I just found the answer to this questions as well. Both prod and test reside on the same domain name, so I should be okay.

    Thanks

You can also request an additional test license of vBSEO for that.

    Hi Shadab,

Is there a documented procedure to request the license for the test forum? If so, could you list a link? Also, that raises another question:

    12. Can I use the same download(s) to install vBSEO on the test forum? I would think so, but it's a worthy question, IMO.

    Thanks.

all you have to do is put in a support ticket requesting the test license along with it's url. and yes, the vbseo install is tied to your username/account, not 1 domain, so you can use the same files on all your sites you have a license for.
