    Question Re Vbseo and Vbull4

    Hi all

I am setting up a CB Radio forum and am planning to buy Vbull4 and Vbseo 3.5.

I would like to know how resource hungry Vbseo is as i know Vbull4 can be very resource hungry to start with.

I am asking because I have a friend who owns a Vbull4 forum and uses Vbseo and at times he says Vbseo slows his forum down and uses a lot of resources (he doesnt run a lot of plug ins, just a basic forum, not even a shout/chat box).

Is there any situation that will cause vbseo to use a lot of server resources and is there anything i can do to avoid such a situation and before i do commit and buy would there be anything i could do to sort it out should it prove to slow my forum down to get it running as normal?

Any advice or reassurances will be greatfuly received

    Kind Regards

    Gav

If you get a decent shared server package you will be fine. If the forum is new you won't need a lot of resources.

How big is your friends site?

It`s around 1000 members, he tells me he has a decent dedicated server setup shared with one or 2 other sites in his forum network (one being a very little used image host) as he has just moved from a naff vps

I`m just a little bit warey of laying out a few hundered dollars for software thats going to give me chew as im not too uptodate with the techy side of things

vbseo does add a little bit of resource use, but generally runs fine on most providers that offer mod_rewrite. I would suggest 'shopping' in this thread first:
