    Pre-sale questions

I am running vBulletin 3.7.2, and seriously considering vbSEO.
I like to know few answers before I buy.

    1) How do you compare vbSEO against other SEO s/w products ? why vBSEO is better ?

    2) Is it easy to uninstall ? How much time does it take ?
    { I dont want to find out that after purchase. }

    3) If I uninstall, will I roll back to the same status before installation w/o any side effects ? How are the URL redirects handled after roll back ?

    4) Is there a money back guarantee within certain days ?

    5) Can I try out this product before purchase ?

    6) I see purchase cost as $149. What is the annual recurring fee ?

Thanks in advance for your replies..

    1) vbseo is a commercial solution. comparing the others to vbseo is like comparing phpbb to vb. It has more features, better coded, fully supported, and simply works better. see: vBulletin SEO: The vBSEO Solution for more info.

    2) it's a simple product/ftp. To un-install, remove the product and the files.

    3) you will start the whole re-indexing process over again. it's not a good idea. 98% of people who uninstalled it didn't give it a chance. It is NOT an overnight success. It takes time for the search engines to update themselves. If you're not willing to have a slow month from google, don't even buy it.
using 100 as a baseline of traffic from just before install,
    i personally saw
    100 75 50 300 600
from google and it's been up and up ever since.
2 years now i'm on it, and i've upped my traffic 600%. (find my post in the vbseo reviews forum for full details)

That said, if you do decide to un-install, htaccess rules can be made to direct /nice/links/123/ back to showthread.php?t=123 which will vary of course depending on what setting you use.

    4) no. the only guarntee is if the software won't work on your server (and vbseo staff can't get it working either) will there be a refund.

    5) there is a demo available: https://www.vbseo.com/demo/

    6) $35

Hi New Bird, I think Brian has covered all your questions. If you have any more, please let me know.

vBSEO is the only professional solution available. You might have discovered some freebie solutions elsewhere. Caveat emptor - beware.

My recommendation is that if you are not ready to make the investment in vBSEO, you should NOT experiment with any of the non-professional, non-supported offerings. That can lead to more trouble than it is worth, and puts your forum at risk.

We have the most advanced feature set, are fully supported, constantly updating. We have thousands of customers and you will see review after review with customers extremely happy about their purchase, and some even expressing that they should "slap themselves for not purchasing earlier!" (a recent new customer comment).

    Great !
Can you pls let me know what preparation I have to make before installation ?
Is there a document that describes the pre-installation and installation process ?

I like to review this doc to estimate the tasks and time involved, before pressing the "Buy Now" button. Because, I want to be ready 100% and buy, install immediately.

Are you on a linux server with apache? if so, there's no real prep involved. If you're on windows/iis, there's making sure isapi is installed.

Obviously, like anything you do, always make a complete back up first just in case. both database and files.

otherwise, it's just like any other add-on you'd get from .org. FTP the files, import the product, play with the options.

Full instructions are in the readme file (included in the DL, or available online here: vBSEO 3.2.0 Readme File )

You can do this if you are on an Apache server:
[How to] Check if mod_rewrite is working for my site

If it is not successful, let us know and we'll help.

    Today, bought, installed.
    Installation was like a breeze.

    Feel very happy..

I did not find time to read all about the config options and what settings would do what. I just left it at default settings.

    1) Is there an user manual ?

    2) I see several of my threads are with long names now.. How long does it take usually to complete indexing of all the threads and posts and setup redirects ? We have about 100K posts and 3500 threads..

    1. There is no user manual available at this time. However, we'll help you with any questions you have about any particular feature. Also you should check out:
Your Site Review - Stuff to Do First

    2. You may notice a period of intense re-indexing soon after your sitemap submits the new URLs and Google takes notice. However, re-indexing occurs over time and time varies from forum to forum. Expect it to be progressive, with progress made each month.

I just noticed I have vbseo Sitemap generator 2.1 installed in my site for some time.
Today I installed vbseo gold 3.2.0. I like to upgrade sitemap generator to 2.2 version.

Do I need to reinstall 2.1 first ?

Joe, thanks for the link in #9 .
Vow! There is so much to do. I will start working on them one by one right away..
Thanks guys, i am in good company..

That's never happened for me. In fact, index urls are worse -- I don't get it.

I am sorry not to be very clear on my question. I was asking about renaming of the threads that will be done by vbseo. In other words setup of redirects. ( It is not about google search engines). Is it done in the background ? How long does it take to complete renaming of 3500 threads ?

Nope. It's all done on-the-fly instantly.
    No wait-times required.
