    Potential Buyer....

    Good day,

I've been pondering purchasing this script for a forum I run. At present it has over 4800 members and 20,000 posts. I currently hold a top 3 position in Google's search results for around 20 major keywords and search phrases regarding the topic the board relates to. The board has two major competitors, one extremely large and the other comparable in size.

The main thing holding me back from purchasing VB SEO is the potential loss of my search engine rankings with Google. To loose one of my keywords (god forbid it be ***** Forums which is ranked 3rd on Google, ***** Mods or ***** modding which are both ranked number 2 on Google and throw me over 40,000 unique hits a month combined - the loss of any of those search phrases would definitely kill my forums overnight).

How does VB SEO deal with this type of issue? Will my rankings be downgraded and if so will they bounce back up?

What are the biggest setbacks out of installing this software? I've heard all of the good, but I would also like to hear the bad. As with every product available today, there are always a few negative side effects and I'd like to hear VB SEO's - what are your biggest complaints?

    Regards,

    Sapper

Your old links will be 301'ed to the new url structure you use. You will not immediately lose traffic.

After google gets the 301 from the server, it will take some time for them to update your listing to the new static url structure. It may drop, it may not, but it might even move to #1. There's no way to know for sure.

For me, I had a bad 3 weeks shortly after install, and then it grew exponentially. The bounce back more than made up for the bad month.

My biggest complaint about the software, is that i should've started using it years ago

You have to think longterm, in the long run you won't loose these positions and you will gain thousands of new ones.
