    Posting behalf of my friend.

    Hey staffies ^_^,

    my friend Mitch who's without the net lately, used vbSEO a few months ago, on his old forum when it was running.

    I'm interested in buying vbSEO but I want to be assured this isnt the error anymore?

    He said when he was changing various scripts around:

    D. In vB-root/includes/functions.php:

    Find this code:

    if ($vboptions['gzipoutput'] AND !headers_sent())

    Add JUST BEFORE it:

    if(@include_once('functions_vbseo.php'))
    $output = make_crawlable($output);

    He said that that part screwed his whole forum up..

    Will this happen to my site? he is currently using a gold liescence from VB.

    thanks in advance

    You should not need to edit any files with vbseo as long as you are using vbulletin 3.5.x+. What version are you running?

    The latest 3.7.2 gold.

    Was just making sure nothing would interfear?

    He also said however, when he installed the plugin in the admincp, that it showed a top link on every page, which worked fine etc

    however when the plugin is installed, everything goes back to his subdomain that he use to have, when he first signed up?

    That's why hes a bit confused, and I don't really want my websites going from my normal domain, to a subdomain which was given by my post when I first signed up.

    Thanks michael

    Brae - It is quite likely that you'll have vBSEO installed in 5 to 10 minutes without any problems.

    If you do run into any trouble, the vBSEO Total Support Team will help you resolve it.

    If your friend has issues with his site, he really should open a support ticket when he resolves his Internet access issues.

    As a customer who spends way too much time on here....

    95% of the problems people have with their installs are usually a result of their own ignorance on using vb product system/ftp or uploading to the wrong place/typos/etc

    The remaining 5% are mixed between legitimate reproduce-able bugs (often fixed the same day) and some crazy custom server config which requires some code tweaks to handle.

    If you have a run-of-the-mill server config running standard ports and all that, and are comfortable with ftp'ing and installing products, etc, then you most likely will not have any issues.
