    is this possible with VBSEO?

What I basically want is this -

the main forum will be at www.site.com/index.php as usual.

the CMS part will be separated into sections, lets say -
each section will sit under a different "folder" or a subdomain (howto.site.com, media.site.com etc')

you got the idea, the articles under each section will be

this is what I want to do.
we don't need to content.php part in the url.. it's much more professional like I asked.

is it possible with VBSEO? does vBSEO has load impact on the server? (for big boards)

    Thanks.

    Hello ,

You can customize your url rewrites as you highligted however only one of them is not possible.

    site.com/howto/<category name>/this-is-an-article

This will not be possible as category names will not be included within article rewrite rules as each article can reside within multiple articles.

Regarding load problem , if your server is already overloaded and your load averages are over 1.00 ~ then vBSEO may not be suitable for you as mod_rewrite is a heavy process. Otherwise there is not much difference. When i enable vBSEO , my load levels are 0.12 0.08 0.06 , when vBSEO is disabled these levels are around 0.10 0.05 0.04

    Thanks for the comment,
I saw really big sites that uses mod rewrite, so why not give it a try?

    each section contains unique categories,
    you said -
each article can reside within multiple articles.
you meant that each article can reside within multiple categories?
so which path will I have for the articles?

and what will we use for the CMS index? (we want to stay with index.php for the forums)

the sections \ categories isn't like it is in wordpress? why did vB had to be more sophisticated? :\

You can set index.php to point to forum.php. You could then make the CMS be yoursite.com/content/
