    Possible licensing issue

    Hi,
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I couldn't see a better place. I have already purchased a license for VBSEO, but have not yet installed. My original domain is www.exchangerforum.com but I also have the domain www.exchangerforums.com parked on that site, so both URL's point to the same forum. I obviously don't want to pay for 2 licenses, and just wondered what should I do to remain in compliance with the license ?

Is it acceptable to just put a 301 redirect to the real domain there or do I need to do something more ?

    Thanks

OK, as I've had no response on this issue, I have gone ahead and installed the software. If the pointer domain is an issue from a licensing perspective, you'll have to tell me how to deal with the issue. If I don't get a response, I'll assume it is not a problem.

Hello, that is the right solution, even from a SEO point of view. Don't forget to point external links to the original forum, so PageRank will be optimized (nothing to do with VBSEO).

    Best Regards

Yes, we are going to refine the language of our license agreement to allow for forums with multiple domains pointing at them.

However, the *most important* thing to note is that having multiple domains for the forum is a bad SEO configuration.

You should definitely 301 redirect the other domain to the primary domain ASAP.

OK, thanks. The 301 redirect is now in place.

Hi, please check your redirection rules as they don't seem to work correctly with 'deeper' links, only homepage redirect works fine.

    Thanks,
Could have sworn that was working earlier. Anyway, it is now
