    phpBB to vB transfer

    Hi all,

I have a phpBB forum that I would like to transfer to vB. It's over 100,000 posts in size with a number of threads/forums linked from third party sites and some excellent serps.

I was sent here from vB with the impression that this app would enable this transfer to be done seamlessly for both users and spiders. Is this true?

vbseo doesn't have anything to do with transfers,, you'll need to use impex from vb.com to import your data from phpbb2, then vbseo can help with the indexed pages, but the actual transfer, has nothing to do with vbseo..

    cheers

    The impex process isn't perfect.

If you ever hard-deleted ANYTHING, a post, a thread, a user, etc, the ID numbers won't match after import, and thus, the old phpbb threadid=123 won't be vb threadid=123 any more.

The benefit you get from choosing vBSEO and our sitemap is that after you do make the transition, you will have vastly improved SEO.

Such a transition will always attract much attention from the search engines when they notice your URLs have changed to the vBulletin format. However, if you install vBSEO + our sitemap, that process will be accelerated and improved.

If you do choose to go with vBulletin, then it's very important that you install vBSEO + our sitemap at the same time.

You do not want a situation of having a 3-fold update: PHPBB to vBulletin, vBulletin to vB + vBSEO.

Go directly: PHPBB to vB + vBSEO, at the same time.

This allows the search engines to see only 1 update and prevent further disruptions, and accelerate the re-indexing process.
