non english characters in google results

    Hello,

Does VBSEO can show the non english characters of url in google results? not their encoded values.

Like Wikipedia, they always has the link in google results in its original language.

I dont want that the link in google results will be shown like this: "forums/%F4%FA%F8%E5%EF_%E1%F"

    My Forum is UTF-8 encoded.

    Thank you.

So, in some cases, google show in search results, the url in original (non latin) letters , on other cases, google show link with urlencoded, how can I be sure that the links will be presented in google with the original letters?

vBSEO will create links in the same form as Wikipedia, for instance:
    Code:
    http://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E8%9B%8B%E7%99%BD%E8%B4%A8

And indeed, the wikipedia links, appear in google with the original letters.
Will it be the same with vbseo, do you have an example of a non latin forum (arabic?) that has utf-8 and vbseo?

As far as I know, most Arabic forums prefer to have ID-based URLs without titles.

    Hi Luck,

I would recommend using he ID based URLs (as Oleg mentioned).

Your sub-forums would be similar to yoursite.com/f100/. Your threads would be similar to yoursite.com/f100/t1000/ or yoursite.com/f100/t1000.html depending on how you prefer to set them up.

Granted, you do not get keywords into the URL with these ID-based formats. However, you might be surprised to find that you will still be very highly optimized for long tail traffic!

In fact, the most powerful advantage of vBSEO's URL system is NOT the keywords. Instead it is the full achievement of link consensus. Please check out this resource to find out how what that means and why it is important:

Pin the Tail on the SEO Donkey (with Link Consensus)!

Please let us know if you have any questions.

I was wondering about this, because in some cases google will show (in search results) site's links with the original letters but others with the urlencoded ones, what makes the difference?
