My Sever doesn't allow .htaccess files, can I still buy/use VBSEO?

Hello everyone, I would really like to buy VBSEO but I am concerned that I won't be able to because my server for some reason (yahoo hosting) doesn't allow .htaccess to be uploaded. I tried getting the vBSEO Google/Yahoo Sitemap Generator v.2.2 that I downloaded off of vbulletin.org to work and it didnt because of the .htaccess. Does VBSEO have a .htaccess file? If so is there anything i can do to make this work? I really need this product as I have a new forum that is struggling to get noticed. Thank you

Unfortunately vBSEO also requires mod_rewrite and .htaccess usage. You may consider moving to another hosting company.

vBSEO will not work with Yahoo hosting.

I am sure others will respond here and recommend you moving hosts.

Hi Steven,

VBSEO and our sitemap are very important factors for your success with your forum. As a result, I do strongly recommend that you choose another hosting provider.

Many of our customers use pair.com and I have not heard any bad reports in recent memory. You should consider them as an option. asmallorange is another commonly suggested option.

Are you considering a hosting change so that you can do what's needed to get more traffic to your forum?
