    Moving to a new forum

Hello there. It's been a long while since I first started checking out VB4 and the various add-ons available. Since then I have purchased the CMS Suite, bought VaultWiki, installed DownloadsII, and tried out numerous smaller add-ons to try out on my site's test subdomain. We are slowly working on redesigning and rebuilding the entire website (which currently runs on Wordpress, phpbb3, drupal, and multiple mediawiki installations) to run only on vbulletin + add-ons.

So here's my question: Is there some way to use vbSEO to automatically create redirects or something for the old site links to the new ones? Wordpress links would need to be replaced by imported articles into the CMS. phpbb3 links would need to redirect to their new locations in a locked area of my forums called "The Old Forums," mediawiki articles would need to redirect to their new links in the vbulletin vaultwiki, and lastly my downloads database created in drupal will need to redirect to the new links using vbulletin's DownloadsII addon.

At the very worst I plan to do all the drupal->DownloadsII redirects manually, because it is currently the most valuable and visited part of my site.

While I am here, are there any Mods for vbulletin that specific don't work or conflict with vbSEO?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hey Webbstre,

Most of the redirects are possible or should be able to make possible.

    • phpbb -> vBulletin redirects is fully possible using our 404/301 Impex redirection tool.
    • Wordpress -> CMS should be possible but it will depend on the URL format you used on Wordpress and the one you use now, it *may* require you to redirect each article manually but we would be more than happy to confirm for you if it is possible via an automatic redirection.
    • The same would be true for Drupal -> DownloadsII and MediaWiki -> VaultWiki redirects as stated above for the Wordpress ones.

To simplify that, vBSEO should be able to deal with most of the redirects automatically if not we are more than happy to try and help you create some custom redirects if it is possible, and worst case you could just set some manual redirects but we will be able to help you identify if this is required or not.

Obviously more information on how to do any of this wouldn't be supplied until you have actually purchased the licence though as the support is all part of the service, but once you have just create a thread with example URL's from both old and new systems and someone will do their best to help.

Hope this answers all of your questions.
